RE: AS/400 Server.

I never use "as400" in my searches. I either use "IBM i" or just plain old IBM. I will very rarely use iseries.

I think it's unfortunate that this thread got so derailed by naming. And I don't include Trevor's response in that because I felt his response to the naming difference was eloquent and non-confrontational.

AS400 is also the only way you can legitimately search for anything in google. It may be last century, but still the only way to "attempt" to find anything meaningful on a search engine. The marketing guy was obviously oblivious to search engines when he/she decided to call it "IBM i".

Four letters, not that hard to memorize: IBM i. AS/400 is so last century.

Besides just like GM, IBM hasn't changed their name. GM Changes names too. The first truck I drove from them was a 'Custom 20' or C20 now they have Colorado, Avalanche, Silverado. And nobody whines....
