That's 'kinda' what I was looking for. When I prompt the command, it requires all of this:

APYPTF LICPGM(*ALL)
APY(*PERM)
DELAYED(*YES)
IPLAPY(*YES *APYPERM)

That seems reasonable, so I'm going ahead with it.

Then, I'll load do the regular GO PTF option 8 to load PTFs and have them ALL apply at the next IPL.


As to the CHGIPLA, it's an unattended backup/IPL so it's "go" or "no go".

You can always do a CHGIPLA before the IPL and set the machine to come back up in restricted state, check everything, and if good start the controlling subsystem, or IPL again.
