Kirk, I believe what you could do is add a vary off of your tape drive on
lpar a when your save completes. You could do a rtvcfgsrc, check the
status if offline or online. Once the status is off then it is up for
grabs on either lpar. To vary it online then on lpar b would be the
interesting scenario, maybe use DDM or FTP to run a command or ?? based on
the final rtvcfgsrc results.
