Pat, can they get a static IP address at the new location? That's what I
have, and I can get to my system from anywhere. I just configured my router
to map the iSeries Access ports to pass through to my machine.

Subject: Using a Sonicwall Firewall for access to the system

(Also posted in the PC tech forum)

I have a customer that is ending operations but will still need a few
employees to access the system to finish out the closing .

They currently have a Sonicwall firewall that is maintained by Verizon.
I have never had to do anything with that unit.

I access and support them remotely
through the firewall using a piece of VPN software that Sonicwall provides.

Since they own that unit, could we not use that as a access portal to
the system ?

The system and firewall will all need to be moved to a new location and
will not have the same 50mb line they currently use.

How involved is this going to be, to attempt to use the Sonicwall and
not have the Verizon support ?

Is it a practical solution ?
