In Windows 7 Pro - on the Start Menu choose Default Programs and then
choose 'Associate a file type or protocol with a Program' - change the
association there.

Have had the same problem. Found this utility that helped me.

Search for unassoc_1_4.zip - if you cant find it send me a mail in
private and I'll send it to you.

Excerpt from the readme:
Unassoc - Description
==========================
This utility helps you unassociate a file type quickly in your Windows
Vista or Windows 7 PC. Windows 7 & Vista do not provide a GUI option to
unassociate file types. That's the reason I wrote this simple tool.

Requirements
============
1. This utility requires administrative privileges to work correctly.
2. To be used in Windows(r) Vista and Windows(r) 7 systems only.

Subject: IBM i Access 5250 bch file association corrupted

I have encountered an instance where a batch file (type = .bch) that
opens
both a 5250 and a printer session, has somehow managed to reset the
file
association to notepad. I tried right-clicking on the .bch and
selecting
open with and pointing it to PCSWS.exe but that didn't work.

Does anyone know how to reset this file association so that when the
user
clicks on sessions.bch it will automatically start the 5250 and
printer
session?
