Or just figure out what type of SAS connectors you need and get a NON-IBM one from newegg.

Thanks for the reply, Mark. I've already searched Google, which appears to have some "awareness" of the part, but when you try drilling down, everything that has come up for me so far has been a "false positive", so to speak. You end up at a site that offers various cable options, but not the one you're looking for.

Hi, Nathan:
Just do a google search for "44V5161" (without quotes) ... you will find many sites offering these for sale. :-)
Also available on e-bay (for a better price than elsewhere). ;-)

Thanks for the reply, Matt. I've already looked on Amazon and Newegg, but without success.
I just tried calling 1-888-SHOP-IBM, but Bridgette indicated that the part number I provided (44V4161) was not available, nor were substitutes indicated.

Newegg.com, even amazon.com sells external SAS cables.

I'm interested in ordering an external SAS cable. Do I need to trouble our IBM BP about something that small? Are other sources available? On the Internet?
