To quote the IBM site:

"The Virtual Loaner Program (VLP) offers no-charge remote access to IBM
hardware, including IBM POWER7™, IBM POWER6™ and IBM POWER5™
processor-based servers on IBM AIX®, IBM i and Linux® operating systems."

You've lost me, What Loaner program? maybe i lost some reply....
One of my replies did go missing, I said:

Yes, the system would have only 70 days on the test system, but the
point of the exercise is to isolate hardware problems. If 2 weeks go
by on the p5+ machine without problems i can order a backplane for the
p5 and be done with it. If it dumps on the p5+ it's not my circus, not
my monkeys (they are planning on buying a p7 machine so they will have
to migrate sooner or later).

I think gmail is playing with the recipient, some times reply goes to
midrange, sometimes it goes to the real sender (my mail above went
only to rob for example).

Best Regards,

Roberto

They also did an ID check.

The Virtual Loaner program is great, but it isn't on a 520 - the OP's
original idea. And I think you still need to be a partner with IBM in
some way.

You can install it in 'grace period' mode - you have 70d to enter keys
for all installed programs.

You can 'abuse' that for testing purposes. If you need more time or
configurations, check out the IBM Virtual Loaner program.

Won't the keys be worthless on the new system since it will have a

Subject: v5r3m5?
Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi,

I've hit a roadblock. I have a client with a power5 520 on v5r3m0,
due
to various problems i wanted to move it to another 520 to isolate
hardware issues (system halts and asks for MSD to be sent to IBM,
kinda hard on an EOL'ed system) but i found out the hard way that
power5+ requires v5r3m5 LIC. Now, almost two weeks later i cant find
a
lic cd for v5r3m5! testcase obviously doesnt have it since it's
EOL'ed
and none of my colleagues here in Argentina appear to have it.
Is there some way to get my hands on that iso? The system is keyed
only for v5r3, had it had v5r4 keys i would have just migrated it...

Best Regards,

Roberto
