Actually I looked at the user function capabilities in the current RSE environment and it does look like that may be robust enough to handle what I need to call the upload/download and any other options I deem necessary.

Checkout and Open from local drive, edit, commit to SVN and then push as needed, which is pretty much what an i project does with a lot more involvement.

An eclipse plugin is not out of the question, just currently a little beyond the scope of my skillsets :-)

A plugin would actually be awesome for this because then I could full integrate, but I need to assess the effort first and if it's really warranted.
