Where is a ibrary of snippets (whatever they are)? I just did a Google
search and what little there is is 2+ years old.

Personally, I don't think 2+ years old is a problem. Not too much has really changed in the past 2 years. The active release of the OS was already 7.1 in 2010, and coding techniques haven't changed too much.

Personally, I find myself feeling the opposite way that you express in this post. I feel that trade mags and similar resources post waaaay too much about how to use RSE and far too little about coding techniques that can provide better applications for the end-user.

I've also spoken with far too many programmers who, when asked what they're doing to modernize, will say something to the effect of "You can't let yourself get behind the times. We have programmers still using SEU and PDM in our shops! To be modern, you have to use Rational"

Then when you ask them more about what they're doing, you find out they're still creating green-screens, they're not using ILE techniques, they're not use SQL. Basically, they're writing programs that look like the output of CVTRPGSRC -- RPG III-style programs in the guise of RPG IV. And they're proud of being "up-to-date and current" because they're using RSE/LPEX to write them.
