Rob,

I was not decrying the occasional use of SEU, rather the lack of use of RD
Power for ~anything~. ADTS has been essentially stabilized for many years.
If you want to use RPG Open Access, no validation can be made in SEU, only
in RD Power.

In the real world, SEU and RD Power are tools in your toolbelt. However,
SEU is not your primary development tool. There is no 'versus".

spend that money? Why waste the disk? Why keep up the PTFs? And, since
SEU will blow you grief on op codes that postdate the last time SEU was
updated while EDTF won't?

And, yes, I have used EDTF and CRTCLPGM in a pinch.

Good point, Gary.

Why would someone go to the effort and expense of setting up a PC with
whatever WDSC is called these days just to make an occasional tweak to a
CL
program?

Trevor,

Reread your own posts as if they were written by someone else. Can you
find
the marketing opportunity?

As far as SEU goes I still use it at times; not very often but
occasionally.
I also use NotePad and the command. IMHO, IBM jettisoning SEU would be
akin
to Microsoft jettisoning Notepad or their command window.

So why did it need the complaining to start the post?

This is where I find we do our platform a huge injustice. Our community
starts with a complaint, and it just goes downhill. Where is all the
passion
and positivity that we had when we started here? And how will we attract
the
YiPs if all we do is moan, groan and use SEU? And why would IBM listen to
a
bunch of complaints?
