Yes, we had decentralized printing early on. Getting printers out of the
server room really cleaned up the dust in there. Vacuuming out the UPS
was normally reserved for single persons and other such candidates for the
Pony Express.
As you said, adapt or die. People adapted to getting their reports on
8.5x11. Typestyle is cleaner. Blame it on the network guy, new system,
etc. After all, they sure aren't going to be getting fanfold printouts
from that system, are they?
You could output to Excel instead of printed reports. But it may be too
late to try anything newer than the 70's if the countdown is fast
approaching.
