I think the Madison group has all but given up. I don't know of a meeting in quite some time. If there is someone out there that does know of meetings, please let me know. If I remember, an IBMr was really driving the group and I think he moved on within IBM to other responsibilities.

Maybe in time, however, so I'll keep these links. We do have Manta that the person can thankfully use, unfortunately it doesn't run on the browsers on my computer. Thanks for the responses. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [ mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of rob@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, July 13, 2012 1:47 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: Beginner CL/RPG articles Ancient book "Application Programming by Example". My copy was for V1R2. A few things have changed since then. But it did a nice job of introducing a lot of concepts. For example, starting out in SEU to create some DDS to create a table to work with, accessing it with RPG, adding a screen, building on from there. Those kind of stepping stones. Used to have a large library of ATS courses that started out a few of our people. http://www.ibmuser.com/ See also http://www.mantatech.com/?gclid=CLvR6Y-ml7ECFaVe7AodrRGW9A http://partner400.com http://www.400school.com/ http://www.as400online.com/index.htm http://www.lab400.com/ To make everything else seem like a bargain: http://www-304.ibm.com/jct03001c/services/learning/ites.wss/us/en?pageType=course_list&subChapter=5003&subChapterInd=C&subChapterName=IBM+System+i&chapter=5003&chapterName=IBM+System+i A lot of people seem to favor the books written by Bob Cozzi. I have an older 2nd edition left here by a former coworker. I've not used it. Rob Berendt
