I'll bet serious money on no, Paul won't be there. He left COMMON some time ago.

The list of sessions at this Fall Conference looks to be completely packed again. Kudos to the education team for getting this done.

I somehow doubt that most folks have any idea how much work the volunteers do in determining what sessions to present, working with the presenters to be sure the content is up to date and relevant, and most importantly something you want to know about. Like it or not that describes why the session schedule is not published any sooner than it is. After all the things I just mentioned are done, then the presenters have to accept doing the presentation, subject to their own business schedules and such, and only then can the list of presentations be published. It's a long sometimes hard schedule to hit, and frankly I am still amazed it gets done as soon as it does.

Additionally, the Sales and Marketing folks at COMMON want that schedule long before most folks start asking for it because they have to start the demand generation for the event. That takes time and effort too. While you don't hear or see them, there are plenty of incentives for getting the list of sessions and schedule out as soon as it can be, not the least of which is the attendee who is trying to justify the education dollars to attend the conference.

At this point I plan to be there. I look forward to seeing the rest of you!

Told you to watch this space. :) Have a great Fourth of July for those who celebrate Independence day today. I know myself and a few others on this list will be speaking at the COMMON Fall event, September 24 to 26, so I look forward to seeing you at the COMMON Fall event. http://www.common.org/index.php/fall-conference-and-expo.html Pete -- Pete Massiello iTech Solutions http://www.itechsol.com IBM Champion -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Pete Massiello - ML Sent: Thursday, June 28, 2012 9:57 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: COMMON Fall Conference sessions I know that the Education committee has been working hard on the session selection, and I believe they have informed all the speakers who have submitted the sessions that they were selected. Now, the speakers are in the process of confirming the confirmations. I agree with Jeff that you should be able to see the sessions prior to registering. Yes, the discount is great and you can save a good chunk of money, but you want to validate the sessions are the ones you will need to enhance your career and get the most value from your investment in the COMMON Fall conference. While I am on the COMMON board, I can't promise anything anymore (As I am not President any longer), but I believe the board will be very sympathetic to this issue. So, watch this space. I'm definitely interested, but no sessions are posted. I'd really like to see what the session - and possibly the pre-conference workshops - are before I commit. I called COMMON HQ. The receptionist said it's definitely in the works but she did not know the exact status. I left a VM for the Education Coordinator (right title?)
