Jack mentioned the QINACTMSGQ msgq. You can set that to anything you want
and then write a program that monitors that MSGQ. When the message comes in
you can then run that info thru your own disconnect/end program and decide
it you want to end that job.

I have a client using the inactivity timer to end jobs.

This is not a great solution and it sometimes will end a long running
interactive job.

Years ago there was a method where you could manage the inactive time on an
interactive CL program. Unfortunately that is not possible on a RPG
program,
or is it?

Is there a way to monitor a job and end inactive jobs - not using the
inactivity timer?
