If the TR4 includes the respin then my savsys would have it once I did
one. I was concerned about it be a nice to have 'physical copy of it'. If
you put on TR4 and it ups the respin value then if you don't have a full
save your out of luck. I like to have the physical media that shows the
respin values.

Back on V5R4 they came out with V5R4M5.
On 6.1 they came out with 6.1.1.
These required a new resave and you did a slip install of lic. There's
even a new section of the Infocenter "Replacing Licensed Internal Code and
IBM i of the same version and release".

This is NOT how you need to upgrade with Technology Refreshes with 7.1.

I think that is what Jack is thinking. Perhaps I am speaking his lingo
now?

Even if you got resave E and did that section of the Infocenter you may
get MF99004 but you may be missing a bunch of prereq's and coreq's sent
with SF99707.

I spoke with Steve Will at COMMON and got verification that TRs are
cumulative as well so even if you are at the base version just adding TR4
would get you up-to-date.

No. It will not. Definitely. Bet the farm on it.
Basically there are two ways to get to a certain level.
One: Start out with latest refresh (E).
Two: Start out with an earlier refresh and order TR4.

Wont TR4 require this though:

I_BASE_01_Licensed_Machine_Code_RS_710-E

The lastest BASE according to the download site is:

I don't think that is a re-save since TR4 came out, so PTFs are your
best bet.

Order SF99707, You'll get it all. BTW be ready for quite a list of
pre-req/co-req PTFs (potentially 100s) and a double IPL when it's
applied.

Do you get a new I_BASE_01 with this or is that a special order and if

so
how do you order it.
