Dawn,
Intentional FUD. Trying to discourage people from staying on 6.1 with
some misguided belief that since it's older it must be more stable. 7.1
has been Generally Available for over two years now.

Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx Hi Rob - nope, no beta, no testing. All PTFs when made available are expected to be complete. A developer can't complete two sets of PTFs at exactly the same time - so in general, you'll see them create fixes for the oldest release first then propagate the change to the most current release. Dawn From: rob@xxxxxxxxx To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx, Date: 05/09/2012 02:11 PM Subject: Is 6.1 'beta' and 7.1 the more stable release? Is IBM 'testing' ptf's on 6.1 by releasing them there first and then releasing the 7.1 versions a week or two later? Let's look at the planned release for DB2 group ptfs at http://tinyurl.com/db2group or https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mydeveloperworks/wikis/home?lang=en#/wiki/IBM%20i%20Technology%20Updates/page/DB2%20for%20IBM%20i%202012%20Group%20PTF%20Schedule and many of the enhancements match this up. Look at left window under functional enhancements.
