When my best friend (a videographer specializing in figure skating; his wife was my first skating coach) and I are setting up for a skating competition, if the power is plugged in anywhere that there's a realistic possibility of it being accidentally knocked out, we (1) anchor the extension cord to a fixed object to prevent it from being pulled out, and (2) duct-tape the plug to the socket.
