Hm, I think you can simply use the QAQQINILIB=mylib keyword in your ODBC connection string.

Eric,

We do have the copy of QAQQINI in another lib. It's in use by other non-odbc (C#) apps.
But when we (i'm not the win developer) go into the IBM iSeries
ODBC admin, system DSN, diagnostic tab, and specify the query option lib,
nothing changes & sql uses the CQE engine.
Our system default for Ignore_Derived_Index = *NO because some
recent db2 updates broke some of our older code...
We use this copy of QAQQINI to fix performance where we can, but the
issue is how to specify a specific QAQQINI for a ODBC connection.
Our hunch is that the ODBC Admin tab "diagnostics" and specifying
a lib for QAQQINI is only when in diag mode - I'm looking for confirmation.
And how do others using ODBC specify a copy of the options file...

Jim,

You must have a ***COPY*** of the QUSRSYS/QAQQINI in the library you specify in this property.

By copy, I mean that you MUST use CRTDUPOBJ to make a new instance of the system supplied QAQQINI, then you modify the copy in your user library... Each job that then overrides to this user/QAQQINI will adopt the customized properties.

IBM iSeries ODBC driver - DSN tab, Diagnostics tab
has entry for Query Options file Library. We put a user lib name in.
But we execute and still uses default copy in QUSRSYS.
Is this only for debug purposes? and if so,
how to set (hopefully from client side.
Have seen reference articles on exit point setting qaqqini,
but we have many apps using qzdasoinit, some verdor written, some
internal, lot's of users-it could get messy.
Trying to fix one app & a few clients.
