This will definitely push some customers to the 3rd party maintenance
vendors.

Not all of us techies are in control of the direction our companies take
in regard to OS upgrades.

There are two sides to every coin. For companies who have no need or
budget to upgrade their hardware, Oracle is effectively killing off app
upgrades for those running on pre-Power5 hardware. I wonder how many of
