See page twenty seven of document.

I looked at the document you mailed privately. Unfortunately that Client Access COM utility that your using to transfer from Excel to an IBM i DB table can't handle garbage that users often enter into Excel cells. It appears that you have a problem with some badly formatted data in your date column. I don't know that for sure. It just seems likely. Excel can also be quirky. Every Excel spreadsheet conversion I've ever done needed an RPG program to handle either garbage data, or unexpected quirks. The Client Access utility would be a good idea if you could guarantee that the spreadsheet always had properly formatted data and all valid values.

We've gone so far as writing Web applications that look and behave like spreadsheets, but validate each cell during data entry, so users get the most productive user interface possible, and we get valid data up front, rather than having to write a program to clean up the garbage afterwards.
