One method that would reduce the amount of disk required:

If you know the names of the files, restore one file, remove all members, then repeat.

Or DSPTAP to get file names??

Subject: Restoring data file structures

Is there any way to restore just the file structures of files in a
library without restoring the data too ? The only way that I know to
do that is to restore the files with the data then save them with the
STG(*FREE) option. That could require a lot more disk space than is
available. Surely there is a less painful way to do this.
