Deep down in the SQL0190 message it explains that you can only specify DROP
DEFAULT if a default value has been defined for the existing column, so I
would think this is working as designed...

In the QADBIFLD table there is a field called DBIDFT. If you don't specify
the default value this field has ''. f you specify '' it has ' ' (go
figure...)
