Thanks for all the tips.

I had been in a loop with this because it actually started with the
portable app solution environment. Both were indicating secondary *LNG
errors in the job log, although I have only one language.

FYI: The Extended base dir support cannot be installed.

However, it's amazing what ENDSBS *ALL cann do for installing software!

Loop? Or just appearing to be the same _sequence_ of messages? The
first error listed [reading a joblog oldest to newest; oldest message is
"first"] may diagnose what is wrong, possibly in a way that implies
recovery, or even the diagnostic message "Recovery" steps give up the
means of correction more conspicuously.

I'm afraid if I deinstall, then reinstall I'll get and error
elsewhere - vicious loop!

Best not presume prescience with just a final error ;-) Investigate
the origin of the specific cause of the overall failure, to best
understand and then possibly even to predict the outcome of another
attempt to install. Be not afraid ;-) to issue DLTLICPGM to delete the
License Program Option [if not allowed, the OS will say so; e.g. as with
OPTION(1) of the OS] and attempt a new RSTLICPGM of that option, after
learning more about the origin of the installation failure.

Appreciate any tips!

If the spooled joblog from the original failure is no longer
available [only that some msg rc4, same as from Check Product Option],
then RSTLICPGM PRID(5770SS1) RLS(V7R1M0) OPTION(3) will generate a new
joblog that can be reviewed for the origin of the failure *if* the
installation fails again to restore; and if the restore completes
without errors, then presumably all is well... allowing to proceed to
PTFs.
