Thanks for the info. Yes, it is a 520, M25. Aargh! I really don't
want to power down completely. I'll see what our maintenance guy says
when he calls back tomorrow.

An IBM CE can log in with celogon but they will not give you that
password. The password is a manufactured one based on date, serial
number, etc which the CE passes to service who generates and gives him
the password. It works only for that day. With that password the admin
password can be changed. Without IBM hardware maintenance I can't say
for sure if your maintenance company will be able to get IBM to give
them that password but I would guess No.
If you have a 520 the switches are on the FSP and yes they are tiny.
Itty bitty even. No matter what position they are in both need to be
switched. Of course you must pull the card out to do this which means
100% cold power off (Plugs out!) Once the switches are flipped, card
replaced, and plugs are back in, then the HMC will re-authenticate to
the FSP and you'll assign a new admin password (along with the general
password and the hmcaccess password as well.)

To reset the password, you should contact your service provider, or
reset two jumper switches somewhere on the service processor. I am
loathe to try this latter approach (hardware is my second, inherited,
Is there a secret CE Login that our maintenance company should have?
(We are on 3rd party, not IBM, hardware maintenance. We do have IBM
software maintenance. Not sure where this falls.)
