Been a few decades since we've used non IBM maintenance. Used to use
Sorbus (aka Bell Atlantic Business services). And Decision Data. We went
back to IBM and keep a tight relationship with them. Most of the people
who are upset with IBM are the people who are stationed on some remote
corner of a desert somewhere yet they just happen to have competition to
IBM within 20 miles.
We like to stay very very current with the OS and that often requires some
internal knowledge from IBM. Our comfort level is good. Most of the
third parties say they'll save you x percent off of IBM. And if IBM jacks
up their prices to push new hardware these people jack up their prices
right then also.
