With all of the discussions about the IBM zip API for 7.1 recently I thought I would respond and see if we could add something. We have a zip utility that we have been giving away to our customers. We decided recently to repackage it as a tool that anyone can download and use for FREE. It's a native system i product with an easy to use CL command interface that supports JARs, TARs, ZIPs, GZIPS, and BZIP2. The big bonus is it has built in encryption - both zip and AES and runs on V5R3 or later. You can download it from our website at www.arpeggiosoftware.com/arpzip. Currently only the non-AES version is on the website for download but we'll be uploading the AES version in the next day or so. I'll update you when it's there. If anyone has a site that would like to link to it, feel free as this product will be maintained at this location including the updated AES encryption - free.

Regards,
Tim
