I don't know if your printers are being used by multiple sources-- ie Network and iSeries. If they are, check the settings on the printer.

Most of our Xerox printers are used as both Network and iSeries printers (using the same IP address). There is a time lag between the time we start to print and when the printer actually prints. There's a setting that retains the connection to whichever source was talking to the printer last-- so if we were printing from the network side the printer would wait for the delay time in the hopes that there were more documents from that source. After the timeout, the iSeries could make a connection and print its reports.

It could be mistaken and the setting might exist on either the iSeries and/or the Network spool server, so check all of the 'ends' of the connections.
