If your going to IPL right away after the save finishes, have the control group do it for you. Use option 8 on your control group inside the command WRKCTLGBRM. In there you can set the IPL settings. Hint: It's on the 3rd page down and usually defaults to the back up policy.

Also as a further note, check the IPL controls in system policy. If the control group finishes outside the time IPL time allotment you will get an error message and the IPL will not happen.
