WINS? Did your network change and someone not register your system in WINS?

I am thinking back that you cannot access your net server shares as \\server and now you have to use \\server.domain.type?

This is from clients and not from the iSeries itself? Am I correct?

One the client is failing to look up the server name although the server is registered in DNS. Depending on how your domain is configured, the iSeries may not be able to self-register with your domain so it will take some manual configuration.

You can check your WINS setting in the Net Server configuration.

iSeries Navigator: System: Network: Servers: TCP/IP and select i5/OS Net Server Properties: WINS Configuration
