Is the pc etc on the same network. Have you did a manual IPL to see how it
reacts. Service tools signon within ISERIES access or in the telnet
session. Are you using QCONSOLE for your setups. What version of ISERIES
acecss and service pack.

Whenever I IPL the machine, the Operations Console doesn't re-connect
automatically; I end up having to delete the connection and have it
discover it again. It will then connect and present the Service Tools
signon. This then will sometimes present the second problem, which is
whenever I signon it returns an error code 702 "Communications Error
validating the connection". Service Tools User id doesn't make a
difference. And then it will suddenly work after numerous tries at
signing on.

Any ideas?
