Could be upgrade - could be a bad case of coincidence.

Since the biggest killer is usually I/O I'd start there.
WRKDSKSTS, use F11 and make sure none are Degraded.

Also do a WRKPTFGRP. What 'Level's do you show "Installed" for SF99610, SF99609, SF99601?

Another thing to consider is that the sooner you call IBM on this the better. You may still have *MGTCOL's so they can do before/after comparisons to see what has changed. They get purged.

Hi all,

We finally completed our upgrade to v6r1 on the weekend on out 520 box.
The upgrade was flawless with the exception of having to turn off Extended
Passive Mode and Extended Port Mode for some of our FTP jobs. However, I
noticed that since the upgrade our system is running abnormally slow -
batch jobs are piling up and the overall system performance is lethargic.

We have two weeks until our migration to our new Power7 box, but I'm
wondering if there's anything I should look for in the meantime. Here's a
brief rundown of the current box:

- Model type - 9406-520

- Main Storage - 16GB (auto-adjusting)

- DASD - 850GB (49% utilized)

Just an FYI - we do have a lot of QZDASOINIT jobs that occupy a large
percentage of CPU utilization, but this was already occurring before the
upgrade, so there's something else occurring that is killing our system
performance.

Any ideas on where to start looking?

Thankee-sai!

/b;
