Ditto. But if you have passwords et cetera, you may also consider running the zip utiiity, available for AIX for free, in the PASE. That's what we do, and have done since V5R2.

The simplest and most straightforward way, in my opinion, is to use
the Java facilities that should be on your system. Look into the
QSHELL commands JAR and AJAR. Either of those should serve your
purposes.
