IBM just says create more Virtual Adapters... OK I can create
up to 1012 per machine, that in itself doesn't help. I
ASS-U-ME I must tag/mark/point these adapters to this DVD. So
with 5 IBM i guests, do I need 5 separate virtual adapters in
VIOS each pointing to a different guest machine/partition?

No, one vSCSI server for the DVD drive will work for all the
client LPARs.

If
so can I just point all of the VIOS adapters at the same DVD
resource in VIOS or Do I need to create 5 virtual DVDs in
VIOS?

A single mapping of the real DVD to a virtual DVD should be
enough to do the job.

So far most of the docs I can find ref the HMC and not
SDMC. While the SDMC is the follow on replacement for the HMC,
it does something differently...

My understanding is SDMC has different terminology for the tasks.
So, if you understand the language of the SDMC and you understand
the language of HMC, you can perform the translation of what must
be done to how it is done on the other.
