Bob:

The reason for the PC tool approach is I'm targeting many different
platforms (UNIX, PC platforms, iSeries, mainframe, etc.) and different
databases (Oracle, DB2, MySQL, PROGRESS, etc.) the PC platform seems to make
sense.

And not all of them have a RPG compiler.

I have no experience, but I am wondering why it has to be a PC tool, The
iSeries should be able to do that. It doesn't sound very hard to write in
RPG either.

It's kind of like training your own replacement though.

Data Extraction Tool

Good Afternoon.

I'm searching for a PC based data extraction tool that I can use in
conjunction with a project to move an iSeries application into the cloud.

The data extraction tool will reside on a PC resident at a client's iSeries
server location, extract data based on relational rules and transfer the
data to the cloud server.

Does anyone have experience with such a tool.
