Hi Chris,

He's not using 2011-00-00 as a date. It's a character field, and it's the unique key to the reporting period table. When you want a report, you tell it which reporting period you want by giving it the key to the reporting period table. The table entry has the actual start and end dates used to select records for the report.

Did anyone try the sample SQL in his article? My System i didn't like '2011-00-00' as a date. I liked his reason for using it, tho.
