The problem is, your iSeries is set for library naming (namefmt 0) and filezilla expects the way the rest of the world works - path naming (namefmt 1)

There have been several posts here about this. I found a method of adding a post-connection command to the profile for the connection. Others say to simply put something like /qsys.lib/qgpl.lib in the default remote directory of the connection entry you create. I just tried this, and it works fine - no need to find the config file. But don't use the root of the IFS - it'll probably timeout when retrieving the list.

You can't get this to work when you use the quick connect toolbar, unless your iSeries ftp server is set to path naming already.

I just tried to sign on to FileZilla and I login successfully and it give me my library as the curlib but then says;

Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

What is the cause of that?

Thanks

Hi Chris, is FileZilla easy to use and do you ever have any issues when using it to copy files to the IFS?
Thanks, Frank

I use FileZilla. It's especially good with the AS400.

Today's graphical FTP clients make it just about as simple as anything
