I want to be able to change the Authority so it defaults to *ALL
IIRC the default for "Authority . . . . . ________" on the "Exit
this Query" display is always *LIBCRTAUT [since that feature was first
made available; previously the default was *CHANGE] for Option 1=Create
from WRKQRY; that the default is hard-coded in the program QQUDS which
processes the responses from that panel. For Option 2=Change from
WRKQRY, I recall the default will reflect the AUT() value of the *QRYDFN
object that was selected for Change; in that case, only the owner of the
object is allowed to change the authority setting.
While I do not recall there being any "Data Area" implementation for
the Authority setting, there might be a *DTAARA implementation which
enables restricting the "Library . . . _________" to a specific name; I
suspect that is possible, only because that was an often-requested
feature since the Query/400 feature was effectively sunset. The second
KB doc link below does not allude to any such capability enhancements
provided by any data area(s).
The QQUSAVOPTS was originally created with 80-byte *CHAR to allow for
such an [save-related] extension. The KB doc for that specific data
area name for the implementation of a particular "save query" option has
no mention of an enhancement beyond its original function; neither for
authority nor for a specific library name. No harm in submitting a DCR
to request an enhancement for that data area; though I would not expect
anything.
