The maximum lengths for each of the five types are:

Decimal -- 15 digits, 9 decimal positions

Character -- 32767 bytes
Note: The initial value (specified for the VALUE
parameter)
of a CL variable can be no greater than 5000 characters.

Logical -- 1 byte

Integer -- 4 bytes

Unsigned integer -- 4 bytes
