subject: Savin 9228
Being out of loop is not fun. I was told that a Xerox printer was to be used
in this area. Had a device description created, and it worked. Then, it
didn't. Found out that the
Xerox had been replaced with a Savin 9228. Same IP address.
I did a Google search, and saw that the 9228 is supported. What I don't know
is whether it is supported at v5r4. I have tried *NETSTNDRV, *HPPJLDRV,
*IBMSNMPDRV,
*IBMPJLDRV, and *IBMIPPDRV.
When I try to start the writer, the writer ends immediately. Job log only says
"An internal program error has occurred.".
Do I have to change anything else when changing the driver program? Is this
device not supported at v5r4? I wish we we current on the os. But, in a little
over a year,
this system gets scrapped. Replaced with a network link to an unknown system,
far away.
I have not tried remote output queue yet. I had hoped to get away from that.
I appreciate any thoughts.
