"Instead of FTPing to PETERPC from your i you ftp to SHARER. Windows has
an optional ftp server you can load. It's not loaded by default. Once
you ftp it to there your share should work just fine."

My PC Name: PETERPC
Network mapped drive: M
Network folder to save the data: \folder1\folder2\myfolder

The M: drive is mapped to a folder in a PC called SHARER, that resides in
another state.

With this scenario, can you elaborate a little more on the detail of how to
do what you are suggesting?
