Tom,

I have always found the following IBM TechDoc (21111802) very helpful.

Seems like there was more to it than that, like setting up SMTP

the
CFGTCP settings, but seems like there's something else I need to touch.

Our current system creates reports, creates a PDF of each (stored in
IFS),
then generates an email destined for the recipient (using Mr Perotti's
utility). It uses the MAILROUTER parm to direct the generated email to a
3rd-party mail server (running on an in-house PC server), which actually
sends the email to the recipient.

I need to be sure that that process is replicated onto the new system but
darned if I can recall everything I did to get it flowing (generating the
reports, PDF and email is no problem, I got that). I got it working 7
years
ago and haven't touched it since so my recall of it is a bit lacking.

Check out the CHGSMTPA command. I think the MAILROUTER parameter is what
you're looking for.
