The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

Sorry, I had not been following.
Nothing to be sorry about. I left out a few critical details. And I
honestly haven't a clue how to use PREPARE and so forth, or what they
are and aren't good for; up until recently, almost all of my SQL
experience has been through the CLI, executing generated SQL and pouring
data into a PF in QTEMP.
Returning to the problem at hand:
Another idea that occurred to me would be to generate library-specific
versions of the UDF, from a generic template, with the generator
hard-coding the qualifications.
After all, I've already got a combination of CL and RPG programs that
generate VIEWs. This could probably be done with just a single RPG program.
