Install the disks with concurrent maintenance, or when power is off.

IPL to DST, work with Disks, work with Disk Configuration
Work with Device Parity protection, Select the Raid option you want (Raid5
Raid6, both with/without hot Spare),

Once they are added go back, and add them IMMEDIATELY and Directly to the
ASP (From Work with Disk Configuration, do not back out of this menu). Take
the option to Add unit to ASP, then select option 3, and put the ASP number
next to each drive and it should add those units very quickly (because you
didn't exit the menu and went directly from adding as Raid into adding to
ASP).

Subject: 8203 E4A adding disks

I have an 8203 E4A system with a 5886-001 expansion unit. The expansion unit
has 12 (127.8GB) disks installed. No disks are installed in the main box.

The customer wants to install 6 disks into the main unit. This would be
installed with raid 5 set.

Where do I go to find the necessary steps involved to add the disk,
initialize the disk and then activate raid 5.

Any help would be appreciated.
