From the research I have done it looks like I should be able to create an iSeries overlay from a word document and that word document has used a full color picture. Then using RPG spool file print as usual using the overlay and then convert the spool file to a PDF (we are on V5R4 and use Webreport for PDF creation - hope to be on V7R1 in the not too distant future). Has anyone actually done this and is the quality of the picture affected by the process? What we are working on is a marketing postcard for prospective students and quality is top priority. Our idea is to have a variety of overlays that go with a student's area of interest. A forestry student might get a postcard with trees, an aviation student a plane, an automotive student a car, an IT student a picture of an iSeries (:)). We have done overlays already using Word so know that process but have only done business forms in black/white only. We have used the overlay to produce a PDF document that we FTP or email to vendors. We know how we can use a different overlay depending on the students interests. Only question left is the color picture
