Interesting way to phrase it.

I think this is trying to tell you that there are no iSeries machines that will run 7.1. If you want to run 7.1, you have to upgrade your hardware to a System i5 or Power Systems unit (which, in turn, will change your serial number.)

But that's just a guess...? Certainly not stated clearly.

Not sure what June 2011 has to do with it? (They stop marketing v5r4, I guess.. but not sure how that fits... many iSeries machines can run 6.1, and even if they couldn't, an upgrade is still supported after EOM... so... I'm at a loss as to what that part could possibly mean.)
