The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I have realized that dealing directly with a subsystem is not what I
should be doing.
The example of what I am trying to do was given in my first post.
I have installed a current version of Apache Tomcat. I created a
user-defined TCP/IP Server and a program to start/stop the Tomcat
instance. What I am having trouble doing is getting the Job to show as
belonging to the user-defined server.
I will start a new thread to inquire about user-defined servers.

Is there a way to call a program when a subsystem is started?
You can put prestart jobs on a subsystem, I *think*. It's been a long time since I looked at that.
