#1 Lan Console attaches to the first port of the base Ehternet card, Port
T1.
#2 To access AMSI you do use either of the HMC ports so there should be a
conflict that way.
#3 Once you have accessed AMSI via the default IP address, they can be
changed.

We do number #3 when we cross connect HMCs between locations to give us
reduntant HMC access to a system.

Unles someone beats me to it, I will gen a set of steps and post them here,
but it will be later today before I can get that done.

not setup to use HMC, they are using LAN Console. The default IP's for the
ports are shipped as 169.254.2.147 and 169.254.3.147. If you look at IBM
documentation to access this they always seem to write it up in such a way
that they expect you to be locat to the machine with a PC locally attached
and a PC IP on the same network as the default ASMI IP address. Has anyone
else had an issue with this, if so how did you get around it, unless there
is an easy way to toggle a system from using LAN Console and then back to
HMC or vice/versa.
