Our business partners just did some digging into the depths of IBM
and Passport Disadvantage.
The 'old' tools were:
ADTS (Application Development ToolSet) This was part of Websphere
Development Studio. This product has been 'stabilized;' SEU feature
will support OS v6.1 RPG and COBOL, but not future releases.
Websphere Development Studio Client (WDSc)- previously included with
WDS and no cost. Stabilized at v5r4 of OS/i. Will work with OS/6.1,
but will not support RPG or COBOL compiler enhancements at OS/6.1.
Support terminated April 2, 2010.
New Rational v8 development tools (replaces all previous versions of
Rational tools; they're no longer available):
5733RDG - Replacement for ADTS. Purchase via IBM standard channels
for $860/seat. You can upgrade an existing ADTS license via Passport
Disadvantage for $665/user. Both include 1 year of support; support
is $177/user/year starting 2nd year.
5733-RDD - Includes all of RDG, plus Java, AIX, Linux, etc. Replaces
WDSc. $2740/seat. Includes 1 year of support; support costs
$548/year/seat starting in 2nd year. No trade-up available.
