Many moons ago if you had a job in a job log pending state it meant that
your system had an abend or, more likely, someone had to run an ENDJOBABN
on that job. However, some releases back, IBM made this happen more
regularly. WRKSYSVAL QLOGOUTPUT. I like this. Back when a majority of
job logs spooled up, even to QPJOBLOG, users were deleting them as
clutter. We even had one "FORMER" IT person suggest to his users that
they run CLROUTQ QPJOBLOG several times a day.
You can use this system value (like we do) or you can change numerous job
descriptions (like IBM does) to do this.
