The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Okee dokee. Actually, I'd like to share this with the general public:
it took me about an hour of playtime to create a working Android
application that downloads the JSON dynamically from that URL, sorts it
and displays it in a list. The list is scrollable and when you touch
one of the entries, it pops up the Midrange archive for that subject and
month in the browser. It's actually pretty cool.
Once again, I'm thrilled that I know Java. I suppose you could do
something similar in another language, but in Java it's all there. It's
a few dozen lines of code, including the stuff that fixes (er,
enhances?) David's JSON data.
If David is okay with me showing it off publicly, I'll show screen shots
and make the APK available for those of you with Droid devices.

Folks:
Just for giggles I threw together a script that would generate the mailing list post counts for all of 2010.
If anyone is interested in playing around with the data, it can be found at http://midurl.com/u.
The data is in JSON format ... I just don't have time to create something that will use it.
If you come up with something interesting, please contact me privately.
